Information for Teachers
Teachers
Fullerton Public Library loves teachers, and we have several ways to support educators in meeting their classroom goals!
Teacher Cards
As a teacher, you may apply for a library card separate from your personal use library card. The teacher’s card allows teachers to check out up to 50 children’s items for an extended 6-week period. In this way, you can augment your classroom materials during units of study without having to worry about renewing or returning items within the standard 3-week period.
Teacher Requests
Long on curriculum needs, short on time? You’re a teacher. You’re busy. We know! So let our experienced children’s staff pull selected books on the subject or unit of study you need for your classroom. When submitting a request for children’s items, please allow five days for us to fill your request. Tell us the subject and number of items you need, your school, and grade level. Requests are subject to availability and current demand.
Tours and Outreach
The library gladly offers customized visits and tours for classes of all sizes and grades. Our staff is also on the move! Throughout the year, the Children’s Department participates in many community and school events to promote the library’s services and to share the joy of stories and reading with children and families all over Fullerton.
Because of our busy programming calendar, appointments must be made in advance.
Contact the Children’s Department to discuss your next tour or outreach visit!
