Library Support Groups

Friends of the Fullerton Library

Membership in the Friends of the Fullerton Public Library is open to all. Everyone who applies is entitled to the privileges that membership entails. Names are placed on the Friends mailing list to receive the newsletter and notices of special programs sponsored by the Friends. Membership in the Friends includes early admission to the used book and magazine sales, as well as access to other annual events. Since community membership is vital to the group it is hoped that you will join soon. The Friends welcome new members.

Book Sales

Our tri-annual book sales are attended by book lovers from throughout the Southland. Friends not only host these events, they also have the privilege of purchasing items prior to admittance of the general public. Please refer to the calendar of events for actual dates.

The Friends volunteer Board members meet Monday mornings to sort and price the hundreds of books donated by the community. All proceeds from the sales are donated to the Library.

Silent Auctions

Friends of the Fullerton Public Library conduct a silent auction of ten books every month at the Main Library. Books are displayed in glass cases with cards giving each book's bibliographic description, minimum bid, and condition.

To place a bid, write your name and telephone number on corresponding bid card. Minimum increase is fifty cents. Bids close on the last Saturday of the month at 12:00 noon.

Highest bidders will be notified by telephone about how to pick up books. Payment may be made by cash or check. Checks must be made out to Friends of the Fullerton Library. Books should be picked up at the Library within 2 weeks. No E-mail Bids Accepted.

There are also two Special Auctions held during Spring and Fall Used Book Sales. Items are displayed in glass cases near the Community Room. Bids close on Saturday noon of the current Used Book Sale.
