NovelistPlus is a valuable resource to anyone trying to find both fiction and nonfiction book information. This database provides subject headings access, reviews, annotations, and much more for hundreds of thousands of titles. It also includes other content of interest to readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We’re Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. For school media specialists and teachers there are Picture Book Extenders and articles on Teaching with Fiction.

Curated by the Library of Congress, this site allows you to search and read newspaper pages from 1900-1910 and find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present. The World Book site gives you access to World Book Info Finder, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, World Book for Kids, World Book Reference Center and World Book Discover.

Literary Reference Center (LRC) is a comprehensive literary reference resource. It provides users with a broad spectrum of reference information from antiquity to the present day. LRC is a full-text database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, hundreds of literary journals, and unique sources not available anywhere else.This subscription database is available remotely (FPL cardholders only) and at FPL.

Legal Assistance

Small Claims Advisor

The Small Claims Advisor is service of the Legal Aid Society of Orange County & Community Legal Services. This organization provides free, civil legal services to low-income persons and seniors who live in Orange County and southeast Los Angeles County. The library offers access to the Small Claims Advisor only.
